These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Podwist mobile and web applications and related services (the “Service”) provided by Artelax Inc. (“Artelax”, “we”, “us” or “our”). By creating an account, signing in, or using the Service you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. The Service is not directed to children. If we learn that a minor created an account, we may terminate the account and delete the minor's data.
Account creation is performed via Google Sign-In. We collect and store only your email address from Google authentication unless you explicitly provide additional information. Your email is encrypted at rest using AES-256. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account login credentials.
Podwist is an AI-powered app that converts YouTube videos into audio podcasts and textual summaries or notes, with multilingual support and voice synthesis. The home screen also displays a curated library of free podcasts (selected by Podwist) for users to explore. These free podcasts are provided for your enjoyment and education with no credits required.
Personal Use Only: All conversions and downloaded content are intended for your personal, non-commercial use only. You agree not to redistribute, share or otherwise use the content beyond your personal use. Podwist does not claim any ownership of the content you convert; all copyrights remain with the original creators. You must comply with all copyright and other proprietary rights when using the Service. For example, do not convert or use content that you do not have permission to use. Any downloaded podcasts or summaries should not be used for commercial purposes or public redistribution.
Credit-Based Usage: Podwist uses a credit system for most AI conversion features. Each conversion (e.g. creating a podcast or summary from a video) consumes a certain number of credits. You may obtain credits through free trials or by purchasing them via in-app payments. The credit cost for each feature is displayed in the app. Any fees paid for credits are non-refundable once the credits are used. Ensure you understand the credit costs before performing a conversion.
Free Tier and Promotions: We may offer a free tier or limited free credits for trial purposes. We reserve the right to limit usage in the free tier or offer batch processing (“slow mode”) to manage costs. Podwist is not liable if you cannot access free features at any time or if free trials are changed.
Users are solely responsible for selecting videos to convert. If a copyright owner contacts us regarding infringing content, we will promptly remove the infringing podcast and any associated data from our systems within 7 (seven) calendar days of validated notice and will block the offending content and the uploader from re-uploading that content in the future.
To notify us of an alleged infringement, copyright owners should contact [email protected] and provide the necessary information to process a takedown request. We will comply with applicable law and may provide limited information to rights holders as required.
Most AI conversion features consume credits. Credits may be purchased in-app. Credits are consumed at the time of conversion. All credit purchases are final and non-refundable.
Payment Methods: For in-app purchases, we accept payments exclusively through Apple Pay (for iOS devices via the App Store) and Google Play (for Android devices via Google Play Store). We do not collect, store, or process any payment information or financial data directly. All payment processing is handled securely by Apple and Google through their respective payment platforms. If you do not wish to make purchases, you can continue using the Service with the free credits provided monthly.
No Refund Policy: All in-app purchases of credits are final and non-refundable. Once a purchase is completed and credits are added to your account, we do not offer refunds, exchanges, or cancellations under any circumstances, except where required by applicable law. Please carefully review your purchase before completing the transaction. Credits purchased never expire and remain in your account for future use.
You agree not to: (a) use the Service for illegal activities; (b) circumvent YouTube's terms or technical restrictions; (c) upload or attempt to convert content you do not have rights to; (d) attempt to decompile, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the Service; (e) use automated scraping or data-harvesting techniques.
We use Google for authentication and PostHog for analytics. PostHog processes anonymized IP and device information in Frankfurt, Germany. We do not share personal data with advertising networks or sell user personal data.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your data. In summary: your email is encrypted with AES-256 at rest; data in transit is protected with TLS; we enforce access controls. We use end-to-end encryption for applicable communications and sensitive data flows where feasible.
We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time through in-app settings or by contacting [email protected]. After deletion or a valid erasure request, we will remove your personal data from our systems in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.
We may update the Service and these Terms. Material changes will be communicated via email to your registered address or through in-app notices. Continued use after notice constitutes acceptance of changes.
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, Artelax disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Our aggregate liability for direct damages is limited to the greater of €100 or the amount you paid to Artelax in the preceding 12 months.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms will be resolved in the courts of Istanbul, Turkey, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
